Exploring Ubud – Bali Indonesia ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉย

After a much needed day of relaxation after 32 hours of travel ( delayed flight and missed connection it added an extra 6 hours of travel to our trip) we decided to make the trip from Seminyak to Ubud. We hired a driver named Wayan who was recommended from a friend. He was excellent (We ended up using him for the remainder of our trip)
Our plan was to visit the Rice fields and the Monkey forest. Wayan suggested several stops along the way which included a Coffee plantation, A gold and silver shop, Wood carving shop, an art gallery, the holy spring temple and a place for dinner which then we proceeded to the rice terrace and monkey forest.
The coffee plantation was very cool. They took us through a short tour showing us how they make the coffee and sat us down with several samples of coffee and tea for us to try. There was a shop inside you could purchase your favorites. I purchased bag of vanilla coffee.
Next we moved on to the gold and silver shop. On the way into the shop you could see the hard work the jewelers put in to each piece of jewelry. The wood shop was the same. The amount of work put in to each sculpture was outstanding.
The holy springs temple was the first temple we visited on our trip. This temple is cool as it has the holy springs in which you can bath in. We didnโ€™t go in as we didnโ€™t bring a change of clothes but we still explored the temple grounds. We were approached several times by locals to have our picture taken. I think it was because of our light skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. My friend and I kind of look like sisters.
After the temple, we stopped at a restaurant for dinner. This was our first time eating local food. We ordered a large plate to share. I enjoyed a few of the food on the platter, other parts I didnt love.
He took us to the rice terrace and it was very beautiful. The fields were bright green and I had never seen anything like it before. After exploring the rice fields we made our way to the monkey forest. The traffic was very bad and it took us close to an hour to get there. We only had a bit of time before it closed but we quickly fell in love with the monkeys. You have to be careful as some of the monkeys will try to jump on you/ or steal your stuff!
